if your toddler takes dance lessons I have a Q
Do they let you stay in the room and watch them dance or do you wait out in the waiting room. And if you wait in the waiting room , can you see what they are doing anyway -through window on a door, 2 way mirror, something...?

We wait in the waiting room and no there is no mirror or anything. They sometimes let us in to see

Ours doesn't have a separate waiting/lobby area...its just a part of the room that has a small bookcase separating it from the dance floor, so we basically watch the whole thing and they see us the whole time too.

only allowed in the room a couple times out of the year.
curtain is open once in awhile, but the girls figured out they can see through it.
they have a video camera in the room and a tv with a little section for that room that we can watch them on while we sit in the hallway.

I teach dance and I don't have a studio per say. I have a room at a children's center (kind of like a rec) and parents can not see into my room. They wait outside. Once in a while a parent or grandma will ask to watch class and I never say no. I just do not have the space to accomodate parents more then one at a time.

DD2 goes to Roseland and there is a clear glass seperating the dance studio and the "viewing" area. She can see me and I can see her.

at the dance studio by dd attends...i wait in the waiting room while she is in class...but once in awhile I peek and see what she is doing...

The studio that DD goes to has double glass doors that connect the studio to the lobby. The instructor also allows us in the class at anytime and even has chairs set up against the back for us.
The rules might be a little different for the older classes but my DD in the 2yr old program so they are really flexible.

for my DD's they were in a separate room partitioned by window.. the shades were usually drawn... I like it better that way actually.. while i loved watching DD, I felt my being there was more of a distraction for her than anything..

We can watch them dance on a TV in the waiting room. There is also a small glass partition that you can peek through too.

We sit in the waiting room and there is a large flat screen tv that we watch the class on. Moms are allowed in but they try to avoid that...the kids that go in without their mom get two stickers. They've been in class since September and FINALLY all the girls go in without their moms.

oooh, that's cool. See in my DD's class you can't see anything, the door is always closed and they tell NOT to open it to peek in bc it destructs the kids.
I feel like I don't know how she is doing , I mean really doing, they do call us in after the class is over so they can show us what they learned, but as soon as I go in DD runs to me and won't dance any more
