Update- Thanks for all the prayers. Went to the dr. and they used the doppler, and there was still a heartbeat. The dr. said it sounded strong and even, and that she didn't think there was anything to be concerned about, and that the bleeding is common. She checked internally to make sure there wasn't anything causing the bleeding, and found a very tiny polyp on my cervix, which she thinks is probably what caused this. Doesn't think there's anything that can be done really except monitor it at this point.
The silver lining is that I have to go back this afternoon for a sono just to confirm everything is ok, because the tech wasn't in this morning. If the tech has enough time in her schedule, she will probably do the anatomy scan this week instead of next week, so hoping I can find out what this baby is tonight so I can call him by name and tell him how much he scared mommy and not to do it again!

Ali, that is a GREAT update! I know when I had bleeding, hearing the HB was a TREMENDOUS relief.
Hang in there, and let us know what the sono reveals.

I bled at 12 weeks. it's scary. but it happens. good to hear all is well!!

OMG Ali- Im sooooo sorry you had such a scare. But im soooo happy you are & the baby are ok. I will keep you in my prayers for a healthy remainder of your pregnancy & delivery.

Update 2:
So we went for the sono, and they could not find any other reason internally for the bleeding. The baby looked great, and my placenta was totally moved up to a great position. The tech refused to do the anatomy scan though, because she claims that the baby is still too small at 19 weeks, and also that because I am tall and thin, the baby is very low and head first, and generally being a little nudge to get the measurements. So I said "he's doing exactly what my father said he would do to us, show us his azz instead of cooperating." Then she said "oh, you called the baby a he?" so I said "yes, that's what I've been saying, because I don't want to say 'it'", thinking she was going to say I was right.
And that's when she told us "well, he is a she".
To say I am shocked beyond belief is the understatement of the year. I know it was a 50/50 shot, but EVERYONE called a boy for me. We're just floored. We're just glad that she's healthy and everything looks ok...can't believe I'm having a little Marina!!!
