side effects of going off BCP

Did anyone else, or is anyone else experiencing awful mood swings since coming off the BCP. I feel like my emotions are all over the place. Like right now, I just want to sit and cry...its awful. I was on it for 8 years so I am sure being off is taking its toll, but I hope it regulates itself. I dont even want to be around me right now.

I was a MESS for weeks and weeks!!! On top of going off BCP I was also weaning myself off my anti anxiety meds, my DH was almost killed in a work accident and was house ridden for 3 months. Oh and my relationship was ending w/my step mother and father over fights stemming from my wedding.....

yeah, its was a complete nightmare!!! Oh and I gained 50 lbs, I s*%t you not in 6 months!!!! (ETA...Im obviously an emotional eater)

So yes its TOTALLY normal but it will level out. I promise you!!! Just make sure you take a reality check when you feel like you are going to explode from emotions. Also i found being VERY honest w/my DH about what was going on in my noggin and w/my emotions helped A LOT.

Yes!!

I'm not sure if its related to coming off birth control or something to do with having a miscarriage/post partrum depression. Either way my horomones are a wreck and I feel like I belong in a nut house some days!

WHEW!!! This makes me feel loads better....not to mention some issues with DH over TTC and I feel like I am gonna lose it. Thank God I am not alone

i get HORRIFIC mood swings when i am pms'ing now, being off bcp. when i was on them, i would be a little extra pissy the week prior to my period but now - it's like my world is coming to an end. i sob over everything uncontrollably.

Everytime there is a birth control commercial on and they reference PMDD my husband jokingly says to me, "Are you sure you don't have that?"

That is how crazy I've been!

Yes!!!! I was a bit of a psycho for a little while (it does get better). The only thing I deal w/now is the week or so before AF I cry at everything - from a sweet love song to a sad commercial.

On the flip side, my libido has gone through the roof since going off BCP. My DH has been a very happy man for the last year or so

Yup. I didn't realize how hostile I was ON bcp...thankfully that faded, but my mood swings were NUTS afterwards!!!

My DH put up with it thankfully....though I'm pretty sure a lot of that had to do with surge in my libido!!!

Emotional wreck here. My last session of bc was 5ec 25th and I'm hoping to be normal sson. Besides the emotional outbursts I've gained weight, breaking out like I'm 12 and my periods are heavy and horrible. Oh yes how fun is this.

I did have mood swings but Im sure its a side effect. I did however get major acne..ugh

I never had that problem but my skin is awful and hasn't gotten better in 8 months almost so far...

It sucks.

ugggh....I just started the breaking out which is awful since my skin was never really that great on BCP anyway and now I am am getting breakouts everywhere...even my neck....grrrr....

I not noticing mood swings as much and maybe I'm crazy but I swear my boobs got bigger off the pill. I asked DH and he just got a HUGE grin - don't think he can have an objective opinion as even the thought of bigger boobs clouds his judgement.

I have been really trying to loose weight and am finding it impossible - I started runnin 2+ hours a week training for a half marathon and haven't lost a pound, haven't changed anything in diet - so not sure if this is related to BCP but that is what I'm blaming it on to make myself feel better.
