Opinions please
My school is having an auction and every class has to do a project to be auctioned off. I was going to get a solid color apron and have the kids put their handprints on it. I'd write their name in fabric marker under each. Then, I was going to get a kids cookbook and some cooking things and put it all in a basket to be auctioned off. What do you think? Would you like something like that? Anything you would add or do different? Should I have the kids do more?

Re: Opinions please
I'm not sure if you stated how old your kids are but I would have it more class oriented. I have some ideas.
1. Love the apron with the names/handprints. 2. Have a class-made cookbook as well. Have each student bring in their favorite recipe or a family recipe. Each student could be responsible for one page of the book (recipe and decoration of the page) 3. You can do spice sticks. You get a paint stirrer and then in smaller sections you glue down spices. It smells good and is a kitchen decoration. This can be omitted or go along with: 4. an informative cookbook where it is like an encyclopedia of food. Once again each kid can be responsible for one or two pages. Take spices, or fruits and vegetables, and have them put it in an alphabetical book where it describes the object and things it is good for example being: rosemary: an herb with green needle like leaves. This goes good with chicken. and then there could be a picture.

I am not a teacher but we made recipe books with my Brownie troop. Each child contributed their favorite recipe from home. It was Sooo cute in their own handwriting(they were in 3rd grade at the time) They decorated the book as well.
