babies with breathing problems and acid reflux
Just trying to see if anyone has had some of the same problems.. My son is almost 6 months and he was born with a flap that wasn't fully developed so he breaths loud and heavy :( He also has acid reflux and at 2 months had gotton rsv and was in icu for 4 days. THis poor guy has been though so much and I feel like we still don't have answers. He is on an inhaler now and prevcid for the breathing and the asthma they THINK he has. the inhaler does make he sound better but still at night its pretty bad. I video him breathing at night and docs cant believe what they are hearing. Now they are talking about putting him to sleep and putting cameras down his throat to see if they see anything that could be causing this. I have seen so many docs and feel like no one has the answers for me . Just trying to see if anyone has had this or know of a good or excellent doc thank you

Re: babies with breathing problems and acid reflux
I agree. Post on parenting. I don't know where you live, but I would definitely look for a specialist at a good children's hospital like Schneider's. (I think it's called Cohen now).
Even if it's a little bit of a hike, it's worth the trip IMO.

Re: babies with breathing problems and acid reflux
My DS had the same thing...Laryngal Malasia is what they coined it but his case seems to have been much more mild. He had to go to the ENT every month for the first 4 months where they would scope him. It was hard to watch, but I think it was worse for me, then it was for him. THANK GOD his is developed now...I would hate to have to put him under anethstesia to further look at it....GOOD LUCK!!
It used to drive me nuts that people would look funny when they heard him breathing...thinking that I was just standing by while by baby was choking... I can't even tell you how many people I had to say "don't worry, he's fine" to....drove me nuts!

Re: babies with breathing problems and acid reflux
Yes that is what they are saying my son has. But its so weird that his is getting so much worst at night ihave no idea why it scary.. And my family says something about his breathing all the time my mother gets so nervous which i dont blame her but i guess maybe im just used to it and i also tell people the same thing bc they look at me all the time like why is that baby breathing like that:( Im glad your son is feeling so much better and sound at what age did it get better for him?
