RVC/Oceanside area parenting board?
I'm moving to RVC in a few weeks. Where I currently live, we have an active yahoo group which is used to set up playdates, find babysitters/nannies/ cleaning people, etc. Is there anything like this specific to the RVC/Oceanside area? LIFamilies is terrific, but a little less helpful for these very local sorts of questions. How do moms of infants/toddlers meet each other? How do people find trustworthy childcare?

I don't know of a board specific to this area but I'm from there so FM me with any questions. We moved here from NYC 18 mos ago.
How old are your kids?

We are in Lynbrook and have a 5.5yo ds, a 15mo dd and another ds on the way!
RVC Recreation center has some great activities/classes for the kids....
We should plan a little south shore meet-up group - I think there are a few of us on here from the area... Now that it is warmer a park playdate would be great!

Sounds fun! Check the rec center bulletin board. A lot of nannies post there.

I am in RVC as well. I have twin boys, 16 months. Feel free to FM with questions. I am always looking for play groups, I work part time but am off Mondays and Fridays.

I was thinking about starting a stroller group at Grant Park over the summer - think there's be any interest? 
Ann - There really are a bunch of us in this area that would love to meet up. I have an 18 month old son. I work full-time during the week but an always up for doing something local on the weekends! I'm in the Hewlett area

I agree, RVC rec is fantastic... We enjoy the park there as well.

Well, maybe this is a good place to find a playgroup afterall. :)
We aren't moving for another 5 or 6 weeks, but I look forward to it!
Does anyone have a spouse who plays basketball or softball at the RVC rec ctr? I think my husband would really enjoy it, but he thinks it will be too competitive and won't have anyone his age (41).

I would be interested I live in lynbrook (hosue on market tho) but if I ams till here I would love a stroller club
