when you eat more than your alloted points...
how do you get yourself back in gear? Whenever I mess up and eat too much I kind of say screw it I messed up already and then I will continue to cheat. I guees I still have to put those in when I cheat so I can face what I am doing. I am having a hard time adjusting to the new program. I have to make better choices...

Re: when you eat more than your alloted points...
I try to remove myself from the food! It's usually when I'm at home and bored on the weekends that I overeat. So instead of sitting around eating, I'll do something productive like go to the gym or go shopping or even just clean (who wants to snack when your hands smell like lysol?)
You just have to get into that mindset that once you screw up the whole day isn't shot. First, I wouldn't even say "screwing up", "messing up" or "cheating". I would just say, "Okay, I indulged a little...thats allowed. Now back to the plan." It's all mental.

Re: when you eat more than your alloted points...
I always count my "cheat snacks" - for example - my son gets Skittles every time he poops on the potty - which basically means mommy gets Skittles every time he poops on the potty. I always count those Skittles into my daily points.
If I eat a munchkin, or a cookie - I count that. Even if I go over into my weekly points I know that I'm still held accountable for those snacks.

Re: when you eat more than your alloted points...
Question for you:
If you went to the supermarket bought a carton of eggs, and came home and dropped one egg, what would you do? Would you break the other 11 eggs?
What if you were driving on the highway and got a flat tire? Would you get out of the car and slash the other 3????
The point is......one little setback doesn't need to be a setup for disaster. You fix it and move forward.
Just because you went over your allowance one day doesn't mean you've failed. What matters is what you do AFTER that.

I track everything. You need too. This is how I get back on track. I also make up for it in my activity points!
