Re: Bedtimes?
On school nights bedtime is 8:00 sometimes it slips to 8:30. DS is in 2nd grade. He says everyone in 2nd goes to bed at 9:00

Re: Bedtimes?
my 2nd grader & 4th grader have a 9pm bedtime but since they've been having trouble getting up in the am, I've changed it to 8:30pm (not a hard deadline) on a school night.
On the weekends, 10pm is what I shoot for so I'm not dealing with cranky kids the next day. If they slept in later, we'd all be happier but one is up by 7am.
I was doing it for a while & need to start it up again - turn all of the lights in the house off or very dim. It helps them wind down before bed.

Re: Bedtimes?
Well, mine are a little young (5.5, 4, 5 mos) but... They all go to bed before 8pm. If we're out or whatever, I have no problem letting them stay up...they're fine like that.
I remember my DH thinking I was nuts about the 7:30, 8pm thing. He stayed up until all hours--literally--as a little kid. He was watching Johnny Carson with his older brothers at age 7! He agrees with my style now...in a big way!

Re: Bedtimes?
Jordan went to bed at 7:30 until 2nd grade, when I got caught She came home and told me that the kids in class today were talking about their bedtimes and she was SHOCKED I let her have 8:30 in 3rd grade and now in 4th it is 9pm. This only applies with good behavior. The first thing that gets taken away for poor behavior, is time off her bedtime, she is NOT a fan.

Re: Bedtimes?
my 4.5 ds is in bed between 7:30 and 8, my 7 month old is usually down by 8:30. They're both up at 7am.
On the weekend, it could go a little later....the latest is 9pm and they could stay sleeping until 8am

Re: Bedtimes?
We are an early to bed house because I have to get up at 4:30am for work.
DC's go in at 7. Recently my DH's went back to work in NYC after another layoff and is not home when they go to bed... it's hard to get them down some nights but I'm exhausted by that point. I'm going to be a zombie in the next few years.

Re: Bedtimes?
We have a 5 yr old and 2 yr old. We start getting ready for bed around 7:30 or so. By 8 they're asleep or at least close to it.

Where does time go?

Re: Bedtimes?
Bella is in bed almost every night at 8 pm. She is like clockwork up at 7 am every day no matter what time she goes to bed, so we try and keep it close to 8. On weekends, we may relax things a bit, but unless we are out, she is always sleeping by 9.
We are lucky in the fact that after we read a book, we kiss her goodnight and shut the lights off...she is usually sleeping within 5 minutes. We will maintain this bedtime for at least a few more years.
