My puppy get spayed tomorrow...
I feel so bad putting her through surgery but I know it's for the best.
Any advice to help with recovery?
She is a 6 month old Golden Retriever.

She'll come through it just fine!
I found that with my Delilah.. she absolutely hated the plastic cone that the vet gave us..
I went out and got the blow up one and it kept her from licking the incision and she was more comfortable...
Other than that, we kept her calm, had her dog bed all ready for her - and she healed quickly!

Just make sure she takes her medicine and try to make her a comfy spot on the floor. We had to carry our baby up the stairs, he was so drugged up. She'll be okay, though I get it- it broke my heart to do it, too!

my cat was neutered and he was able to get out of his cone, just make sure your pup cannot get out of her cone or she may lick the incision and it will open again.
Just keep an eye on her because she will be knocking into everything with her cone.

She is recovering very well. I bought her an inflatable neck ring because she couldn't chew any of her toys with the cone on.
She was totaly out of it when I brought her home on Wednesday night. She was still king of quiet and subdued on Thursday with no appetite but perked up as the day went on and today she is back to herself.
Now can someone tell me where to get puppy Xanax? I can't keep this ball of energy still, she wants to run and jump at every opportunity. I'm checking her stitches every hour.
I have no idea how I will get through the next 2 weeks with a 7 month pup and 3.5 y/o DD and keep them from playing too rough together.

My female almost ruined her stiches b/c I couldn't keep her from jumping either. But they stayed intact and she did just fine. Just do the best you can, she will be Ok I am sure.
