Do Braxton Hicks get stronger the further along you are?
I have been having BH contractions from very early on. The entire belly gets tight then goes away. No pain. Well the last week or so I have been having much stronger ones. Feels like someone is squeezing the top of my uterus.
I'm 35 weeks. These contractions are making me nervous. They are not painful but I definitely have to stop what I am doing and breathe through them. Are these still BH contractions?

Re: Do Braxton Hicks get stronger the further along you are?
I recently asked my OB about BH because i was getting tighten a lot but not the whole belly. I am 26 weeks.
Not to scare you but they did say if its the whole belly it could mean real contractions. I would call your doctor just to let them know. It could mean the LO wants to come soon!!!! Good luck!!

I am 37 weeks and have been getting constant BH for 5 days now. I asked my Doc yesterday and she said frequency of BH is NO indication of labor.
Mine haven't gotten stronger but just a lot more frequent.

Mine said the same thing. I'm 36 weeks and they have gotten stronger, actually bordering on painful, and more frequent. I thought for sure it meant something and he said nope, just drink more water, blah.

I have been getting BH consistanly since about 25 weeks. They are my whole belly and they stop me in my tracks. I have to breathe through them.
Dr said normal...nothing to worry about and basically I will KNOW whne its a real contraction..BH are simply your bodys way of practicing.

Thanks ladies! So it seems pretty normal. I am chugging down the water today and definitely having less BH contractions and not as tight. I have an appt on Tuesday so I will definitely ask them as well.

Re: Do Braxton Hicks get stronger the further along you are?
Yes. I've been having BH since around 25 weeks also. Though some women never experience them at all, I've heard.
I'm nearly 38 weeks and they've been getting steadily stronger and much more frequent. My doctor said it's just my body getting ready for the real deal.
Call your OB if you're really concerned.
