why the sudden spit up everywhere

So dd will be 4 months on sat. She has never been a big spitter upper lol

But over the past few days it is non stop. Even hrs after she eats. She spit up about 7 times from 4pm until now

Her disposition is great. She had a fever sunday night and thhrew up like a tannish color. She is gaining weight normally but I can't help but worry about this change in spitting up suddenly

Do you think its the left over from being sick or maybe unrelated? She is also on sensitive formula if that matters. We have a dr apt on monday and I plan on discussing it with him

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon no advice going through the same thing now, I actually posted before. The consensus seemed to be as long as they are happy and gaining weight it is probably fine...but you may want to ask your dr since she was just sick.

Re: why the sudden spit up everywhere

DS was the same way and it started at 4months. We changed his nipple to fast flow at this time so not sure if that had anything to do with it. After each burp guaranteed he would spit up. He is a happy spitter tho. Now at 5 months we changed his bottles to drop Ins and no more spit up during burps..only here and therewhen he is on his tummy.

Between 4-5 months, DS went through the same thing! We would have to carry areound 10 bibs, b/c he would spit up all the time!

Now he is 6 mos, and rarely spits up. I think it is something they might just go through.

not to alarm, just sharing my experience!

at about 4 months, DS started doing the same thing. i thought it was just from moving around more at that age. he then started having very loose BMs and eventually, blood and muscous in his BMs. that increased spitup was the first sign of his milk protein sensitivity Chat Icon maybe something to watch out for!

other signs were
congestion
sneezing
gas

I just read somewhere that spitting up tends to peak at 4-6 months. Maybe that's the case here? If it continues, I'd mention it to your ped.

WOW, she is always sneezing, and I feel like she is always sniffling and the gas is bad. How do I find out for sure if it an allergy? Her last bowel movement was so strange that I took the diaper to work to drop off at the dr because it looks like mucusy strings. I am so nervous

No no please dont be nervous if your dd had a milk protein allergy they will change her formula. My dd is now 16 months and grew out of this allergy. She will be fine.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Have you increased the amount recently. We had that. I inc. bottles and she was spitting up like crazy. I reduced it about 1/2 oz and she was fine again
