6 month old still not in crib!!!!!!!

I am so embarrassed to even admit that my 6 month old DS is still not sleeping in the crib!

We bought the Fisher Price Rock n' Sleeper and have used it from day one. It has worked great, although DS is now becoming more active and can more around in it.

DS has taken a few naps in the crib, but only when he falls asleep in our arms. He has never fallen asleep on his own in the crib!

I desperately need advice!!!

Any insight is greatly appreciated!!

does he sleep with a favorite blanket? do you put music on?
i would try to make the crib as similar to where he sleeps now as possible. You may need to try CIO (if it's your thing)

Start now!! Keep putting him in the crib for naps so he can get used to it. If you dont want him to get rocked to sleep you have to provide something else he can self-soothe with (a pacifier, a lovey, etc).

THen there's really nothing else left to do but put him in there at night lol. Im sure the first few night will be he!! but he will get used to it!!

DD started in her crib at around 7 months...her bedroom is upstairs so I wanted to keep her closer to me at night since she isn't the greatest sleeper. The transition was hard at first and she would cry, but after a couple ofdays she got used to it and now associates her bedroom with night time! Good luck : )

No need to feel embarrassed my dd is still not in the crib at 16 months we got into the terrible habit that if she cried we put her in the bed with us. Now it may be too late by the time we move her out of our bed she will be in a toddler bed. If you are against cosleeping ,I would try to move your baby now to the crib. and like the pp said you may have to try cio. Good luck do what you feel most comfortable with

if he is napping in the crib then he will most likely sleep in it! just put her down in there one night and see how it goes! It's probably going to be harder on you Mommy! Rock him and put him down!

My DD is almost 4.5 months and is not in her crib yet. My boys were in there at 2 months old. I keep meaning to put her in there, but we need to switch out parts of her crib yet again and still install the video camera. I've been meaning to for a LONG time now but need DH's help and by the time we have time to do it, it's either too late or he's busy.

I LOVE having her in my room still, but she's really too big for the bassinet in the PNP, (she turns sideways and her head is rubbing against it, lol) and I think she would sleep better in the crib. She will be sleeping in there by this weekend, that's my goal!

I'm hoping we won't have a hard time. I've put her in there a couple of times to nap and she only fell asleep in there 1 times. The other times I've had to put her in there while she was sleeping. And she goes to sleep on her own at daycare in a crib so hopefully that helps. We will see soon!

Don't be embarassed or feel bad. DS wasn't in his crib until 8 months. Up until that point he slept in his Little Lamb swing (while swinging) every night. They will transitition when they are ready! Good luck!

Due to space issues my DD who is 6 mos old is still sleeping in the pack n play...its pretty big...but hoping to get a house soon so she can have a normal bed.

Do not feel bad...we are going through this with my 4 month old. He loves his FP rocker and the minute we put him into his pak n play or crib he cries and cries until he passes out and then the second he wakes up he cries some more.

We are starting letting him CIO during naps, but I just am too tired to do it at night. We have gotten him up to 40 minutes without crying, but we are just going to keep doing it.

My feeling, if he likes it in there and sleeps through the night what am I going to do. I will keep working on it though!

When he falls asleep in your arms, why don't you put him in the crib then? We used to do that up until almost a year - he has no issues walking up to his crib now

No need for embarrassment my dd is in her crib but still sleeps in our room literally within in arms reach. I put her in at 5 months but she doesn't sleep well and I admit I take her in bed a lot.

I just put her in at 10 months and there wereno transition issues.

I tried at 6, 7, ,8 etc months and she resisted. So i kept her comfy until she was ready.


Now at night i throw her in there, close the door, and she puts herself to sleep. Dont stress!
