Dog thats good with Allergies
A guy I work with is looking for a small dog for his family that is short haired - SOmething that doesnt shed a lot - His son has allergies. Any recommendations? He wants to adopt thank god

I have a cockapoo, he doesn't shed. I have some relatives who have severe dog allergies but they don't seem to have a problem with my dog.
He should check with a veterinarian or the pediatrician first before getting a dog though.

My DH has allergies and cockerspaniels really bother him.

I have allergies and my yorkie doesn't bother me at all. He never sheds either. If you came to my house, you would never know I have a dog. Yorkies are very hyper though )at least mine is). I wouldn't trade him for anything so my vote is for a yorkie!

Just something interesting for him to think about. I am HIGHLY allergic to dogs. Can't even be in someone's house for more than 5 minutes without sucking down my inhaler and having asthma attacks. But I wanted a dog so badly. My allergist said that as long as I got a dog before he was 12-14 weeks old, I'd be fine. This is because at that age, they don't have dander yet. And, as they grow and slowly develop their dander, you become immune to them. So, we got Yogi...a German Shorthaired Pointer...and I am totally fine with him!
