Nursing gown?
What are you ladies planning on wearing to bed at the hospital? I was planning on just wearing pajama bottoms and a tank top, but it seems like every list I look at says to bring a nursing gown. Is anyone else planning on bringing a nursing gown to wear to bed? I am so not a "nightgown" person. Are pants acceptable or is it going to be a pain in the butt to put them on because I'll still be sore?

Re: Nursing gown?
Ugh I cant even stand the thought of a "nightgown"
I had a c with DD and wore pants the entire time.... no issues.

Re: Nursing gown?
When I had my son, I just wore nursing tanks and sweatpants/PJ bottoms. They worked perfectly fine! I am definitely not a nightgown person. I plan to do the same this time around.

I got examined a couple times a day (I had a vaginal birth) and they would just press on my belly to make sure my uterus was soft, so I would just have to pull down the waistband slightly for that. They also asked each time if I was saturating pads with blood, how many pads I was going through, etc. and only one nurse during my whole stay wanted to actually see the pad I was wearing to see how much I was bleeding, so I just had to pull my pants down slightly and she just looked in.

Re: Nursing gown?
I don't wear nightgowns either, but it was the best thing I got for the hospital. It was so much better than the hospital gown. I also bought pajama bottoms, but didn't wear them because it would have been too difficult with going to the bathroom. It also made nursing very easy. I bought mine at Babies R Us and it came with a matching robe. The one in Commack had a huge selection of clothing.

Re: Nursing gown?
If you normally wear nightgowns then do it, but don't bother trying something new. Also in all honesty the thought of nice new pj's is great and I appreciated them at home, but for those first few days I wanted my old standby comfortable pj's. Ya know the stretched out comfy pants with the ratty faded lived in shirt. Not that pretty, but it was comforting to have something fimiliar.
