Sinus infection question
Has anyone ever "felt" a sinus infection in their teeth? What I mean is that I feel like I have pressure in my one cheek and feel like my teeth are sensitive when I bite down on that side. Not sensitive to cold/hot, but just sensitive to pressure. Ugh!

I went last week and he gave me a prescription for antibiotics but told me to wait before I filled it. He said it's hard to tell if it is viral or bacterial and if you take antibiotics for a viral infection, it won't do anything and may impact your resistance to it.
So, I'm waiting to see if it gets better by itself. And today I'm really feeling it in my cheek and top back teeth. Maybe I should just fill the script.

Re: Sinus infection question
They can do a sputum culture to see if it's viral or bacterial.
But yes, you can definitely feel a sinus infection in your teeth, and makes then sensitive to pressure, I know exaclty what you mean.
ETA, SInus infections are more often bacterial... so it's probably worth the chance to take the antibiotics.

Thanks. Sent my DH to the pharmacy today to fill the prescription. Started it tonight so I'm hoping for some relief soon!

Re: Sinus infection question
Def. take the antibiotics. I had a similar situation with the Dr. telling me I didn't necessarily need to. I ended up with a really bad situation. Now I went from never having had a sinus infection to needing surgery. The sinuses are nothing to mess around with!

Re: Sinus infection question
Yep- thought I had a cavity once it was so bad. Your sinuses lay on the nerves of your upper teeth so it's very common to feel the pain there.
