P/t Daycare costs...?????
My mom watches 18 month old ds thursdays and fridays and I am unfortunately beginning to look into other alternatives. I just got slammed with sticker shock when calling a daycare. Is $235 week for two full days (apprx. 16 hours a week) the average?

I have the week off, so I've been proactive with looking @ daycares this week, and we only need 3 days. The places I've looked at (South Shore Suffolk) have been around this price for three days.

I pay 350 per week for 2 babies to go 2 days... that includes a 10% discount on the second child... so I think 1 child would be $185.

keep looking, sounds expensive imo.
part time for infants I am finding about $70/day.
where I plan on sending DD in the fall is $1000/mo for 3 full days.

That may be abit steep considering daycare cost is about that amount for a fulltime child per week.
What does the daycare charge for a fulltime child?
I would try to find a place under $200/wk for 2 days.

I pay $225 a week for 2 full days.
And she is an infant.
My center is cheaper for 18 months and up...
so the price you got is a bit high, yes

That’s expensive. I’ll probably be paying $75-$80 per day once I switch DS to a daycare center. Right now he is at a home center and I pay $60/day, two days a week.

That's what I paid when DD was PT at that age.

oh wow, 235? I called a daycare by us the other day and they said 400 a month for 2 full days a week 
Oh and I just called anothr one after I posted this , the woman told me it has to be minimum 3 days a week , I old her 5-6 hrs a day and she said about $600 a month, "more if it's a full day"

Try in home day cares - they are about half the cost of centers.

I am dropping Sean to 2x a week when i'm on maternity leave -
8AM - 6PM 2 days a week is $800 a month
8AM - 3PM was only $45 less ........

i pay 155 for 2 full days for my 18mo old. granted Im in PA so I imagine NY a little bit more, but 80 seems like a lot more!

that sounds very expensive to me. i play $50 a day for 2-3 full days per week. granted, this is my sister-in-law's mom's center, so i think she may be giving us a deal. but over $100 a day seems too much.

how many days per week? I know of two places that I really liked that were $70 per day.
ETA: I just saw that you're looking for 2x per week. $235 is INSANE for twice a week....imho.

i have been providing child care for 18 years the going rate should be 60 per day for one child. This should cover hours between 7-6. what area are you looking in? t
The price you were quoted is definitely too high

i paid 600 a month for william for 2 days a week. (75 a day)

Seamus goes 2 days a week and I pay $775 a month
He goes from 7am-6pm. Meals and snacks are provided
Its high bc everywhere I went told me that even though he is PT he is taking a FT spot. When he was a baby, no one else can use his crib, etc. You are paying for the spot to not be used when you are there
