Sleep Help Needed
DS is 14monhs and havign the hardest time goign to sleep on his own. We went through a few weeks where I rocked him to sleep b/c he was sick, travel, etc. - now we have been CIO for a week and it is NOT getting any better. Tonight is one week of CIO and he is crying/screaming for almost 1 hour. That doesnt seem right to me - what could I be doing wrong? I am a SAHM for the most part and he is definitely very attached to Mommy. Any helpful ideas please?
Anyone have experience where they used other methods to get him to sleep on their own? I can't take this and it can't be good for him either, every night the minute he gets put in his crib he screams.

Re: Sleep Help Needed
Mine is just barely 3 months, but when shes fussy I lay down with her in my bed and that seems to help. Does that work by any chance?

Thanks - that's the thing - it makes it worse. If I go in there, its 10 times worse, he's so mad at me then and gets more upset and then we're back the same problem. If I rock him or walk him, the minute he is put down he screams all over again.

Re: Sleep Help Needed
I recommend putting him down, but STAYING IN THE ROOM. My 15 month old crys and crys, but if one of us stays in the room, sitting in the rocking chair...she goes to sleep on her own. Just knowing you are there may help.

Re: Sleep Help Needed
It sounds like he either has gas or teething. You might want to talk to your ped about this. I don't want to sound insulting, but I assume warm milk hasn't worked either?

Not insulted at all - he gets a bottle of milk while we read stories in the rocker before going into the crib. Granted its not warm, warm milk - maybe that will at least help.
