Bus switch
Can you switch the bus your kindergartener will be on from the start?
My mom lives a development over and its a different route but she will be taking dd off the bus hopefully by her house if allowed.

It depends on the district. Both the district I live in and the one I work in will allow a child to have a "babysitter pass" so they can go to a caretaker's house.

My district allows you to switch - but thats it. You can't do it once a week - it has to be everyday.
my mom is within our district and picks up once a week, but she comes to our bus stop to pick up.
The other option is to change it to hers and then we would have to pick up the other days.
In the two districts I have worked, they allow almost any change, almost any day. Sometimes it gets confusing for the student/teacher. There was one student who had 4 different buses a week b/c his parents were divorced and either mom, dad, or each set of grandparents had him a different day.

We did that for my dd when she went to a sitter for Kindergarten. I just got in contact with transportation.
I am in Sachem.
