should i get an e-reader?
So, i resisted an e-reader for a long time because I like reading the physical copy, don't usually like reading on a computer screen, and I like having a library. however, i've been thinking about it again and am running out of room to store all my books and would like the convenience of an e-reader. Do you save any money with them? I was checking out prices of e-books, and some are just as much, if not more, than the paperbacks. If you have an e-reader, why did you get one? Do you like it? And which one?
Thanks for any input/advice!

I am in the same boat! Love the feel of a new book, but since I read so much, especially in the summer, I am thinking an e-reader might be the way to go. I am torn between a kindle or a nook color.

Re: should i get an e-reader?
I felt that way too... but since i got the nook ive been exposed to so many books i never would have found otherwise... and i realized that i didnt care about holding an actual book... the story is so much more important to me than a physical book... and now i dont have to find more space for books either lol
ETA: i have the nookcolor... but i won an ipad this past weekend so im going to use the nook and kindle apps on there and give my mom my nook

I'm still resisting! Though every reader I know is urging me to go for the Nook. I don't wanna!

i kind of want the nook, but also want to buy some hard copies. but is that a total waste? i also love trips to the book store...ever since i was a kid. and now i love taking my daughters there, too.

Re: should i get an e-reader?
I held out for a long time. I love the feel of a real book, but since I started commuting again I wanted to try to keep the amount of stuff I schlep back and forth to a minimum.
I got a Kindle and I love it and I'm so excited that they're going to start a library-lending program soon.

Re: should i get an e-reader?
I kind of resisted then someone got me a kindle for Christmas and I loved that it doesn't clutter up my nightstand/bookshelf/dresser etc.
And I love how I can get almost any book so easily, and that no one else can see what book I'm reading

Re: should i get an e-reader?
I got my Nook 1 year ago. I rediscovered reading. I have no room for more books in my house that I will never read again. And it gets expensive buying books, and borrowing physical books from the library is not convenient (got them, return them to avoid late fees).
Now I don't feel guilty. Read books I might have hesitated reading.
And with the ebook borrowing from the library, it's amazing!

Re: should i get an e-reader?
I've been having this debate with myself for months. I was originally in the "no way, I love a REAL book" camp, but now I am reconsidering. I hate buying books now b/c I have no room for them, and try to get as much as possible from the library anyhow. If I get an e-reader, I want a nook, so that I can access the library. I think the convenience would be incredible, but I still think that something would be lost reading everything on a screen, without the physical sensation of the book in my hand.

I completely agree! I resisted for awhile and now I feel like I couldn't live without it!

Re: should i get an e-reader?
I had the original Nook and just recently got the Nook Color and there is no going back to regular books for me anymore. Between the online library lending option, the ebooks I purchased on ebay, and onread.com I almost never have to purchase a book anymore.

Re: should i get an e-reader?
I have a Sony E-Reader and love it...have been using it for over two years now. Because I prefer to borrow books as opposed to buying I occasionally have to read an actual book and don't like it at all anymore. The e-readers are so convenient - lightweight, easy to read, you never lose your place - that they are truly worth the investment.
