How happy are you at your school?
As mentioned I am miserable at my job. I have been to plenty of schools and I have never hated going to work every day like I do now.
I am curious to see how everyone else feels. I put a poll so you don't have to feel the need to respond if it makes you uncomfortable.
I want to say too....in my case the staff and principal are great...it is the students that are making me miserable.

I am in a private school. My school closed last year and thankfully I found a job in another private school. When I first started this school, I dreaded going in the morning. But think that was me forcing myself not to like it since I loved my other school so much. Around November, it really hit me. I really like my new school. Mostly everyone has gone out of the way to make be comfortable and I have actually really gotten close to a few teachers. My kids are adorable, my principal is great and the parents really make me feel appreciated. I feel very lucky to have ended up in another school that I love.

I'm on LI and I can't say I love or hate it. I love some parts, but hate other parts.
but I LOVED my NYC school. I regret leaving, but that was before the 2001 contract bumped salaries up. I just couldn't afford to live and be a NYC teacher (single at the time).

i hate it...sadly...b/c I know you followed my search and then when I got it.... ...admin there stinks and moral stinks....so that gets to me alot, its more about sticking it to your coworkers to some of the people i work with, than all of us working together for the kids (which is the way i believe we should be....)
i loved my old school, but i was a leave there...and well, leaves dried up...

i am in a public school on LI.
I love my school, my colleagues and the administration is supportive. we really are one big, happy family. i am very lucky. and we have great kids, too!

I am in a NYC school..... I don't love it or hate it. I have mixed feelings depending on what aspect of the school you're referring to. I don't get ANY support from my admins which annoys the cr@p out of me, but then there are other aspects that I really do appreciate.... so it's really a love/hate thing.

I'm on LI in a public school, and I LOVE my school. I'm actually in two buildings and love both. I've worked in other districts where I've loved the people I workd with and hated administration, but I can honestly say in this district I love both.
That being said, I get the same students year after year, and this year, I've had it with some of them.

I love my school! I work in a great LI district, where my principal, colleagues, and students are a joy to work with. I've heard plenty of horror stories about other districts/schools, so I definitely feel fortunate to work where I do.

City teacher....LOVE my administration, the people I work with, but of course you always have a few that will be unhappy no matter what you do...I stay clear of them and that seems to work!
