X-post Las Vegas

We are considering a Las vegas trip for our anniversary in Sept. I really don't want to spend a lot of money. We've been once before and stayed at the Luxor. I see good reviews about the Golden Nugget and it is inexpensive enough.

Any reviews on this hotel or Fremont Street in general?

Re: X-post Las Vegas

I stayed at the luxor last year. For the price we paid, I think it was like $350 for 5 days. I signed up for the special offer.

Any way, the only thing we did not like was that they were "opening" a new hotel/time share. We got roped but then as we they were telling us the great deals and just 3 hours during breakfast.... we quickly said NO THANKS. But every time we passed certain areas they were resilient!!!

We got to the point that we were pretending to talk another language which was jibberish and that would make them walk away.

Try the Monte Carlo too! Right in the middle of the strip and it is supposed to be reasonable.

I do not know about the golden hotel, but when we went we stayed at NYNY and it was reasonably priced and from what i can tell it was in a good location. HTH

Try the Excalibur on the strip. It's one of the older hotels, but still great. When we went to visit DHs parents we stayed there one night for about $35. Can't beat that, and you are still on the strip!

We are going to Vegas in a few weeks. We are going for 4 nights and it cost us $435 pp with airfare. We are staying at the MGM which I believe was recently renovated.

Re: X-post Las Vegas

I wouldnt do the Golden Nugget - it is downtown in old Las Vegas and not a great area - plus it is a few miles from the strip (not walking distance at all). And if you want to visit the strip you will need a rental car, unless they offer shuttle service?

The hotel itself is super old unless they have remodeled.
