I bought something today to remember my little boy...

I was at the mall and passed the pandora store and thought it would be a nice idea to get a charm for my bracelet to help me always remember my little boy. I am having a very difficult time and hope that I can start to heal my broken heart soon.

I also bought that belly shrinker for after you have the baby. I made the lady at Destination maternity cry after she asked me when I had the baby and I told her I lost it. That was fun, especially when people who get emotional around me over me makes me uncomfortable.

I purchased these charms:

Re: I bought something today to remember my little boy...

Just to let you know I have thinking of you since I read your thread.Chat Icon My heart breaks for you. My situation was a little different, but I lost my son when he was nine days old. He had a serious heart defect. To say we were devastated was an understatement. I couldn't bear to be around anyone else with children; especially babies. I couldn't handle any pregnancy announcements either. My husband and I basically isolated ourselves for at least 6 months. I was depressed and absolutely grief stricken. It is a very painful ordeal but you will one day smile again. Believe me when I say this. I thought I would never ever be the same, and the truth is I am not. But I have gone on to have another child that I love dearly.

Try to surround yourself with supportive people who let you grieve in the way you decide. If you need to be alone for awhile, then let that happen. The true people in your lives will stand by you. I think it is absolutely wonderful that you purchased those items for your baby. If that brings you a little comfort then that is a wonderful thing. It also may be helpful to speak with someone who specializes in grief. I saw a great therapist for awhile in Manhattan. Also, joining a bereavement group might be helpful as well. They really are the only other people to understand what you are going through.

Many hugs and I am only an FM away if you want to talk.

Re: I bought something today to remember my little boy...

What a wonderful idea! I got something similar to remember my son.. I wear a ring with his birthstone (the month he would have been due).

I found it really helps to have something tangible to remember him by. I wear it almost everyday.

ETA: I can also relate to being uncomfortable when other people get very emotional. I once told someone at my job about our loss and she started crying uncontrollably to the point where I was consoling HER! It was awkward Chat Icon though, I appreciated how touched she was by my story.

What a great thing to remember your son is with you everyday. I too got a piece of jewelry, a bracelet with his stone in it, and I have added my two other children to it.

I've been thinking about you, and wish all the best for you.Chat Icon

Re: I bought something today to remember my little boy...

Ive been thinking of a pandora charm to remember my son too but i was afraid of being uncomfortable when people asked about it
Ive had people at work who knew fray when i told them i wa s out for a month and half and lost him. I am finding if comforting to know that im not alone in these feelings
I hope you will be well soon and can start to heal.
