Tell me how to do bath time, please!

I am embarrassed to say the girls are almost a month old and still haven't had a bath. I have just done sponge baths.

I obviously do 1 at a time. But what if 1 cries while I'm doing the other one. I know keeping them both in the bathroom with me is key. But after a measly sponge bath all they want is to nurse to soothe themselves.

Re: Tell me how to do bath time, please!

I used the sink. I put the bath tub over the sink...I usually had DH or my Mom, MIL etc helping me...And I bathed them and handed them off to a person in waiting. I dont think I ever did it alone so I wouldnt know what to do then.

I do one after the other in the sink bathtub.

You will get used to letting one cry while you tend to the other. its the twin way of life. 5 minutes wont kill anyone Chat Icon

I don't give the kids baths often. Maybe 1x a week. It's just too hectic. When they were younger, I would put 1 in the bouncy seat and bathe #2. I never did it when I was alone just in case the other cried. It's really tough w/ twins! Chat Icon

They love their baths now but in the beginning I would always give them a bath right before a feeding so that if they got upset they would eat right after. I always put the other baby in the bouncy or swing and bath one and then switch. I agree with julz33, when you have twins there is going to be times that one cries. Once I got over that it was much less stressfull.

Right now it is just time consuming!!! Even with a fast "no frills" bath it still takes 20 minutes to bath them.

Sink. One trick I used a lot when they were little was to wash one in the sink and rock the other one with my foot in the infant to toddler rocker on the floor. Or try to do it when your DH is home. Or ask Ryan to entertain whatever LO is crying

DH and I usually do the baths together. When they were newborns we did it in the sink, and around 6 months we switched to the tub.

Exactly this!!!!! I usualy wait until someone is over to entertain one while I bathe the other. But as far as life with twins...def get used to hearing one baby cry while tending to the other like Julz said!
