Brazilian Wax How Young is to young?
Last week i was over at sonia's wax in roslyn, and as i am laying their the lady waxing starts chatting, she tells me the day before was hard for her because a mother brought her 13 year old in for a full brazilian wax, and the child was crying and screaming in pain.
She said the mom wanted her to get it done and that the child did want it to but was in pain. The waxing lady told me that in all her years she has never waxed anyone that age before.
What does everyone think?

What mother would want their 13 year old to have a brazilian?
This is definitely too young.
My 17 year old goddaughter doesn't even want to get her eyebrows waxed yet!

yea i spoke to a couple friends and they thought it bordered on child abuse
and also the waxer touching a young girl down there, it just seems really wrong on both levels mother and waxer

I don't know, the whole thing sounds crazy. What reason could a mother have to force her child to get a BW at 13 especially if the child didn't want to, Isn't that abuse? Makes me wonder if she was really her mother? I don't know.....why didn't the wax lady call police of child services or something.

That disturbs me.
That mother needs her head checked. Maybe her daughter is hairy down there and she's self conscious about being in a bathing suit, the mother should tell her how to take care of it herself and not bring her in to get waxed!
Shame on the waxer for not refusing.

13 is way too young and if I were the waxer I would have been concerned I could have gotten in trouble. What about the owner of the shop? What was their take on it, seems like too many people may have turned heads, especially if the child didnt want it.
18 should be the age to get a Brazilian.

the only semi "logical" reason i can think of why someone would do that to their 13 year old is if they were a runway model. otherwise, i think its friggin child abuse

In my opinion, tooooo young! If I were Sonia's I'd now consider making up my own policy for a certain age restriction (As a waxer, I don't think I could have done it, especially if the girl felt uncomfortable)....and if I were that 13 year old girl, I think I'd be traumatized to be quite honest. There really is no need to do such a thing to your 13 year old daughter.

Exactly. IMO, it's appropriate for 18 and up.
ITA and how much hair could a 13 y/o really have down there??? Use Nair if she really needs to be bare....
