Miscarriage

Hi! I am currently having a miscarriage at 5 1/2 weeks Chat Icon I guess this is considered a chemical pregnancy? I had a miscarriage before I had my daughter but I was further along and had a D and C so I'm not quite sure what to expect this time.

I've just been spotting on and off, haven't had any heavy bleeding yet. Can anyone give me some insight about what to expect?

Also, when can we start trying again? Some things I have read said that in about 2 weeks when I ovulate that we can try again--is this right or is it too soon? Last time, we had to wait til I had my period once.

Thanks in advance for any insight or information you can pass on!

Re: Miscarriage

I'm so sorry to hear you are going through this. It is so hard.

I had a chemical last month. It was pretty much like a regular period, but it was late, lingered longer, and was a bit more clotty. Also, cramps were a bit sharper for me. My doctor said to wait one cycle, but we just went ahead and tried again anyway. I ovulated at my regular time- 14 days after starting to bleed.

Re: Miscarriage

I am so very sorry for your loss Chat Icon From my personal experience...I miscarried at 7 weeks and it was pretty much like a reg. period for me but lasted about one week. My Dr. (not my reg. Dr) told me to wait 3 cycles before TTC but Im debating whether I should start trying now since I know Im ovulating...but if I dont try now I will only wait one cycle.

Re: Miscarriage

Thank you all for your responses. I have to go back to my dr next week for bloodwork to make sure it's gone down to 0.

The miscarriage I had before my daughter, I had a D and C and was told to wait til I had my period once and then I could try. I ended up getting pregnant with my daughter on that first cycle. I was hoping this was different and that we can try in a few weeks. I will talk to my dr more about that next week.

I'm so sorry for your loss!

I had a chemical pregnancy a few years ago. I really never even knew I was pregnant because I got my period (but was doing fertility stuff @ the time and my bloodwork said I was pregnant.)

This time, I'm miscarrying at 8 weeks. I was told on Monday but I haven't had any spotting or cramping since then.

My dr told me that i should start trying right away bc I am so old Chat Icon (35).

I'm sorry you have to deal with this too.

I had a chemical back in Feb/March. I never went to the doctor because it happened so quickly. It was like a regular period, maybe a little heavier than usual with stronger cramps. We tried again right away, but didn't get pregnant until two months later.

Since you are seeing your doctor I would follow their advice. Hope to see you on the pregnancy board very soon! Chat Icon
