Car seats for 2
DS is right now in the Britax convertable behind the passenger side. I'm due soon. Should I move him behind me and put the new baby behind the passanger side?
Thanks!

I had my older one behind the passenger seat, so I could still talk to him. I could see the baby with the mirrors.

I moved emerson to behind the driver and put peyton in her infant seat behind the passenger. It was hard for me to see the baby behind me.

Re: Car seats for 2
Statistically, it is safest in the middle, then passenger side, then drivers. Newborns are more fragile than an older child, so IMO the newbie would go behind the passenger and the older child behind the driver.

IMO I would leave DS where he is and put the new baby either in the middle (if possible) or behind the driver.

Re: Car seats for 2
When #2 arrived, we put older DS behind the passenger seat for two reasons:
I could turn around and talk with him, hand him items, interact with him, etc more easily from the drivers seat if he was behind the passenger seat.
They were both in daycare and having older DS on the right-hand side of the car made drop-off/pick-ups easier because I could more safely keep the infant carrier in the snap and go next to the car on the sidewalk while I loaded/unloaded older DS. If DS was being loaded in the car on the left side, I'd have to keep the snap and go closer to the road with traffic.

We are keeping DS #1 on the right hand side so we can load him into the car on the sidewalk side outside our house. The infant seat is behind the driver.

Re: Car seats for 2
good question, i was going to ask this too! We have 2 bucket seats in the back, so we have no middle. I was planning on leaving DS1 on the pass side and DS2 on the drivers side

i like the older one on the passanger side b/c she is more mobile and isn't near traffic. sometimes she climbs into the minivan to wait for me while i strap her sister in. i like that she is not street side waiting. i can also hand her things and turn to talk to her easily.

Re: Car seats for 2
I moved DD to behind the driver and DS - the baby went behind the passenger. I would take DD out walk her around and then get DS out in his infant carrier on the sidewalk side. I know they are safer in the middle but I dont know if its safe to have two seats right beside each other so that is why I have one on each side with space in between.

Re: Car seats for 2
When I had the carseats inspected and put in correctly by Carseat Safty Chris..(from here) They advised the older go behind driver and newborn behind passenger. ( could not be one in middle one on either side beacse the carseats can not touch eachother in the event that there ever was an accident) This was the saffest option.
I go to the safety carseat check every so often to make sure we are putting the seats in correctly even after moving them out from time to time)

This is what we did as well. It has worked great for the almost year that my second son has been alive.

When I had DS' seat installed last summer, they moved DDs seat from the middle to the drivers side, and put the infant seat on the passenger side.
