Your son is 18 already!!!!  OMG, time flies!!! 
I don't have much advice except to not leave any extra sets of keys at home anymore while you're not there. 18 is a hard/sensitive age to deal with depending on the child. He's usually a good kid right? Just tell him he blew it and if he EVER touches the car again there will be serious consequences.  I'm sorry he did that especially with a new car. He definitely knows better!
I'm dreading that age with my boys!

More hurt that he blatantly lied to me, and yes he is generally a good kid, but let's face it he is 18, it's not like I can punish him.
