kraupner/freedom question..
i dont know if this is a dumb question..
my insurance ghi does not cover any fertility meds..
i usually get all my meds from kraupner except the lovenox from freedom
kraupner always told me the meds were not covered so we paid
if we tried to get them from freedom could they be covered
im confused bc of the posts about specilaty pharmacists??

Re: kraupner/freedom question..
my primary ins, empire bcbs, only works with freedom. so when the doc called the prescription into kraupners (because of whatever relationship they have), kraupners told me that my ins wouldnt cover it (neither empire nor ghi, my secondary). i had to call empire to finally figure out that they only work with freedom. so call ghi- maybe they only work with a different pharmacy, like medco, etc.
eta its not a dumb question, its the dumb insurance companies!

Re: kraupner/freedom question..
I would call Freedom to check. If you are paying out of pocket, I would check how much each medication costs at each pharmacy. I know Freedom is cheaper for a couple of mine. However, Krauppners is better for convenience purposes and when you need meds asap.

Re: kraupner/freedom question..
I have GHI also, and my injectable meds are only covered if I get them through Freedom, but it I need something right a way they are able to obtain an override and Kraupner can dispense them to me.

Re: kraupner/freedom question..
I'm not sure if this applies to you, but there's a few programs right now.. Gonal-f through freedom, its called the "Go Card". Bravelle, Menopur, Novarel and Endometrin have a "h.e.a.r.t. +" program Then there's the Bravelle coupon.
Ask ur MDs office about these programs if u take any of these meds.

Re: kraupner/freedom question..
I have United Healthcare and it doesn't cover the meds anywhere. I've called Freedom, Medco, Accredo, Village Pharmacy (based in RI but ship overnight), Healy's Pharmacy (based in IL but ship overnight), online pharmacies, Kraupners, the list goes on....
I've found Village to the be the best for out of pocket. Still crazy expensive though!!
Good Luck!

I found that using Kraupners vs Medco or Acrevo pharmacy they didnt take as much of my insurance and I usually paid more.
Always check because you never know. my SIL was told Pharmacy didnt take the ins and she called Aetna I think and they paid for most of the meds Good luck

I had this same exact experience! I paid 5 months of med I did not have to!
