i am an infrequent poster for this reason. I often think what are some people thinking. I mean there have been people on here that i pretty much feel like I know everything about them, down to where they live! There is a poster on here that is a neighboor of a relative and although i have never met or spoken to her, i feel like i know all her buisness. Its so akward and i just want to tell her stop posting all these personal things!! You never know who is reading them. It can also be so dangerous. Especially when people post pics of thier kids and then talk about where they go to school etc. Who know what nut jobs are lurking these boards!
same here. people on here write to each other as if it's a private conversation with their "friends". the problem is, hundreds or thousands of other people are reading it and looking at the pics even if they're not responding. i'll never understand it. people put up personal things about themselves, their families, and their teachers. (teachers read this site too! it's not hard to figure out a colleague being spoken about when the district name is mentioned...people don't think about that!)
i hope someone on here did alert the media to the LIW posts.

i try to be very vague in my posts...have not ever once shared my name or my DD's name & would not ever dream of sharing personal pictures on here. I cannot get over the oversharing that people do...agree it is so scary to me those that post pics of their kids and stuff.
The internet can be a very helpful place but also a very scary place...anyone can be looking at this site - sure I come here for info and parenting advice and stuff but would just never ever share personal info or photos. And yes I'm on FB but have VERY strict/tight privacy settings.
