Please recommend your dog trainer!
I am in Lindenhurst
My maltese is a YAPPER and is aggressive on the leash and when people come into my home, once people are in my home he is a mush! I want to get this fixed before DS has friends over and he nips them on the way in.
TIA

Best Paw Forward was amazing...Jason seriously worked wonders for me and my seriously traumatized puppy mill rescue...I would recommend them in a heartbeat! BestPawForward.us

Re: Please recommend your dog trainer!
I'm not sure how far you're willing to go, but Ellen at Happy Dog Training & Behavior in Huntington is fabulous. We've attended 2 of her group training classes and learned so much...really helped us understand our dog and how to interact with her. And, after you work with her just once, you can always reach out to her via phone or email if you have questions or concerns...and she's so responsive, helpful, and patient. We can't say enough good things about her.
Luckily our dog isn't aggressive, but Ellen also does one-on-one training and behavior analysis...and she's focused on positive reinforcement rather than just correcting negative behavior and punishment...which I think makes for a much happier dog (hence the name of her business).

We used Ellen at Happy Dog and loved her! We learned so much from her. I used to email her with questions constantly. I keep meaning to take my dog back to her Family Dog. He's a very well-behaved pup, for the most part, but with a new baby, I think he can use a re-fresher course.

Re: Please recommend your dog trainer!
I also used Ellen in Huntington for puppy kindergarten, and thought she was good. However, I had an AMAZING experience with Keith from Whew! Doggie. His site has been under construction for like 5 years, but he's amazing and you should email him at [email protected].
