I broke my front tooth today...
And I am beside myself! I am going to the dentist first thing in the morning but please, can you tell me some good stories about chipped/broken teeth that have been fixed up to look really good and weren't a dental pain in the arse for years to come.
This tooth originally was chipped last week, the dentist fixed it last Thursday and it bloody well broke today while I was talking to someone...a big chunk fell off!
Good stories please!!!

I have veneers and although I didn't chip it, I love them! lol
I know of so many people that have had their chipped teeth capped or bonded and have heard nothing bad about it

I had a small chip in one of my front teeth from hitting it with a coffee cup( )
My dentist bonded it with some kind of porcelin fill and it is still going strong. Can't even tell it was ever chipped.
It has been about 8 years now.

When I was in 7th grade, I fell off a human pyramid onto a concrete floor, face first. Broke my two front teeth straight in half. I got them bonded the next day as I refused to go to school until they were fixed.
A few years later, I needed a root canal on one, so now that one is capped. The other is still bonded.

When I was 6, I fell on a flight of stairs and my tooth broke in more than half. I had less than 1/4th of it left. I had it bonded immediately. 19 years later, I've never had to have it fixed up or anything. It's getting there though...I have a visible line on my tooth...I'd say within 2 years I'll have to have it rebonded.
However, 21 years for a tooth that was supposed to last me 12 is pretty good!

My 8 yr old nephew fell on his base ball bat a few weeks ago. Cracked the front tooth at an angel. The next day it was bonded and you can not even tell. If I hadnt seen the pic b/f hand I would of thought my SIL was pulling leg.

i broke my front tooth in 07 - it was awful!
im so sorry!!!
instead of just fixing the one broken tooth, my suggestion would be to get a crown to cover the broken tooth and a veneer to cover the normal other front tooth so they look the same.
i did this - it was $$$0 but i am thrilled with the results.
i actually had always wanted veneers on my front teeth since they were crooked...now I am happy to say that my front teeth are perfectly straight and look great super close up!

My son went to a roller skating party 2 months ago.
Fell and did a face plant on the rink floor.
He only has 8 permanent teeth (he's 9 years old), but OF COURSE...he broke one of them.
The front tooth to boot.
All that remained was a little stump, but the dentist bonded him a whole new tooth.
It looks AWESOME and you can never tell it is "fake".
Dentist did recommend we bond it when he is 18, just for more longevity.

Thanks so much again everyone!! Remember, I live in England, not known for great teeth! lol! But I have a great dentist, so hopefully she will bond it for me tomorow!!! I will keep you all up to date!

I fell on the sidewalk in NYC wearing 4 inch heels while drunk. I cracked the bottom of my front tooth and the one next to it.
You'd never know! I had em both bonded and they look perfect!

Ugh so sorry that happened to you. I sort of have a nightmare story with a good ending though... When i was 17 I was out rollerblading on a bike path and I went over a metal grate on the ground and fell. One of my front teeth and the one next to it cracked. There was no saving my front tooth because of the way it was cracked, they had to root canal it and put a crown on it, the other one they were able to bond. BUT i had such a problem with multiple dentists with my front tooth, it always looked fake and green at the top and I was always unhappy.. finally after getting my front tooth re-done 3 times i saw a cosmetic dentist. It cost me a few thousand dollars but it came out looking great & natural. So hopefully your damage is not as bad that they can just bond it for you, and if your dentist is good i'm sure you'll be fine.. good luck!!!

when I was a kid my front tooth chipped when I fell off my bike. I had to fixed and didnt have any issues for YEARS!!! It did finally come off once a few yrs back but since then I didnt have any issues. You will be fine :)

Five years ago I was hit in the face with a metal bat in a softball game (a kid I was teaching released the bat by accident and I was NOT behind the backstop like I preach to my kids). I broke my jaw and lost seven teeth (all in the front). I have 5 implants and two caps. My teeth look better than they ever did and feel normal. The dentist said this is really, really bad, but I'm going to make you look like new again. And he sure as hell did.

I went to the dentist today and she fixed it for me! It looks so good! I had no idea it would be so easy to get taken care of!
I am so glad I posted here because I wasn't so scared going in this morning! Thanks again for the support!
