something so upsetting happened (warning, very sad)
I had my front door open and my dog was growling at something. So I went over, and there was a little cat sitting on my front porch. It looked kind of skinny, so I decided to go outside and take a look at it, and possibly give it some food and water (we have 2 cats, so we have food on hand). I opened the door to go out and it got scared - it bolted straight into the street and got HIT BY A CAR right in front of me. The car was going fast (people fly down my street). I won't go into detail, but afterwards I saw it kind of scurry into the woods. It did not look good. I went out and tried to go find it - there is a vet nearby and i figured i could see if they were still open - but i couldn't find the cat anywhere.
I am PRAYING this cat is miraculously OK and just ran off. But i am terrified it was really badly hurt and is dead - or suffering somewhere.
I am just so upset over this b/c i feel like it's my fault. I scared it and caused it to run into the street. If i left it alone it would be fine right now. It was one of the worst things i've ever seen. Please say a prayer for this little cat.

The cat may have been sickly and his judgement been off already. So don't blame yourself at all. Please.

Oh no! That's terrible! It's NOT your fault. You were trying to help it. I hope he's okay though!
