Dog Friendly and by the water?
*best Kanye voice* Long Island doesn't like dogs.
Everywhere we go it seems dogs are not welcommed 
We usually go to tappen (Sea Cliff) but its getting a little boring for us and Jack.
I am looking for new places to walk the pooch, preferably by water. Anyone have any suggestions?
*willing to travel*

Never knew that, just looked it up on the map..thanks! Are dogs only allowed in specific areas, or all over?

Gardiners park in Bay Shore has trails that lead to the beach. Lots of dogs there!

Definitely Gardiner's park in Bayshore! We bring our dog their quite often and its right on the water. Lots of trails to walk and our dog usually plays in the water for a while and everyone is always super friendly!

Not by the water but West Hills State Park has a dog friendly park with a huge play area just for dogs.

Never knew that, just looked it up on the map..thanks! Are dogs only allowed in specific areas, or all over?
Dogs are allowed in both sides of the park, and there are stores, shops, etc that you can walk with your dog on the sidewalk. Alot of stores leave out water bowls and treats for the dogs. Very dog friendly area. You will see LOADS of dogs.
No where to go IN the water though, not a beach, just a park. Only place the dogs cannot walk is on the dock. They are NOT allowed on the dock.

Right, forgot to say of course the gated playground areas they are not allowed but that's a minimal area anyway.

I love taking my dog to Northport. Also, condre hall in huntington and it's along the water.
