Re: what is the best fruit
I don't know that there is any one fruit... I try to stick to fruits that have a lower sugar content, like strawberries, blueberries, apples, and grapefruit. Lemon is supposed to be really good for weight loss somehow, so I squeeze lemon into my water.

Re: what is the best fruit
My dad is under the impression that if you drink fresh lemon or fresh lime first thing in the morningevery day it really helps start your metabolism. Its like taking a short of the juice. Anyway, he is super fit and never diets and he does this all the time.

Re: what is the best fruit
Strawberries, watermelon, green apples and canteloupe are really the lowest in sugar. Watermelon in particular has a high water content so it's excellent.
As far as satisfying goes, bananas rule the diet.

Re: what is the best fruit
I've got to agree about the bananas. I have one every morning. Otherwise, I stick to strawberry, cantaloupe and honeydew.
I did some reading on bananas/potassium and found that there are links to lower blood pressure and better digestive health. And I just love melon which has a high water content too, so it's pretty much what I do.

I agree with all of the above.
IMO - you can not go wrong with fruit. As long as you don't eat too much, fruit is just perfect!!!!

i eat it pretty much every morning for breakfast. it has a very, uh, cleansing affect!
not to mention, one cup sliced is only about 45 calories!

I was surprised to read that too - it doesn't seem like it would be worse than say strawberries, right?
The source I use for food stats shows that dates, grapes and pear have higher carbs than bananas. Going down the list, lower than bananas in this order:
Oranges Watermelon Blueberries Grapefruit Pineapple Boysenberries Nectarine Raspberries Apple Kiwi fruit Apricot Peaches Strawberries Plums Avocado Melon Lemon
So if you're still concerned, you could go for melon, strawberries, apple.
