found camera - looking for owner - UPDATED - Found Them!
My uncle found a camera. Do you know the people in these pictures? If so, have them get in touch with me so we can get their camera back to them.
(updated - camera owners found so I removed the pics._

Re: found camera - looking for owner
What kind of camera is it? If it's a DSLR/nice camera the owner could have registered their camera with the manufacturer.

Re: found camera - looking for owner
He's looking into that option. There were vacation photos and airline boarding pass stubs too so the airline contacted the customer and left a message for them but he hasn't had a call back. Not sure if they are local here or were just visiting so I thought we'd try this as a faster option since there were also lots of local pictures here too.

You can try posting them here. That's really cool that you are trying to reunite the camera with the owner!

Just wanted to add a cool idea I heard in case this happens to anyone.
If you write your name, phone number, and address on a piece of paper, and take a picture of it, leaving that as your first picture in the memory card, if you ever lose it, the person who finds it will hopefully contact you to let you know!

Can you zoom in on the guys necklace at all? A friend of a friend found a camera....the "wife" in the pics had a FDNY type medallion on with a company number on it...they found the owner through the necklace...

Good suggestion, unfortunately it wasn't that - DH said it's a Christ Head. It wasn't real clear, but it's definately a raised, dimensional head shape on a cross shape.

Thats great! How about checking the lost and found where your uncle found the camera, maybe they reported it missing.

Re: found camera - looking for owner - do you recognize the people in these pictures?
Can you hang signs near where you found the camera with an email address where they can contact you?
they may go back looking for it and see your signs. or at least maybe someone who knows them.
specify when you found it, the make of the camera (but not color or model) and ask if they can tell you types of pictures in the camera on the signs you post. (birthday, wedding, bbq)
I lost my camera once that had very precious pictures to me on there and went back searching for it
Good Luck!

Re: found camera - looking for owner - do you recognize the people in these pictures?
I have posted stuff I found on Craigslist Lost & Found http://newyork.craigslist.org/laf/ and http://www.lostandfound.com/
Just took a peek at CL now, theres a post about JFK and a missing digital camera, see if its the same model: http://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/laf/2526287481.html
I've posted multiple times but only successfully reunited someone with their lost stuff once. Good luck!

Re: found camera - looking for owner - UPDATED - Found Them!
Got a call from DH's uncle today. One of the leads were the boarding passes from a flight that were in the bag. The airline had left a message for the person on the tickets but it took about a week before he heard back from them. Turns out he didn't even know the camera was missing for awhile, thought it was still in the car. They are meeting to get it back to the owner - a happy ending!
