10K Prospect Park
Hi all. DH and I signed up for our first 10k! The Rock and Roll 10k in October in Prospect Park. Very nervous since I am new to "running" (really, I jog).
Is anyone else doing this? Any tips?
Also, for those of you familiar with the area, I am coming from eastern long island and was thinking of just getting a room nearby for the weekend so we can just chill and explore the area. Any hotel suggestions?

I don't have any hotel tips, but I recently ran the Brooklyn Half Marathon which included 2 loops of Prospect Park. I was nervous because there is one decent hill, but it really was not bad at all. You will do great, just go at a nice pace for you and enjoy the race!!

Prospect park is actually a beautiful place to spend the day! If you're staying the weekend you should look into the park. There's even a zoo there!
