Chronic headaches!
I have had 10 sinus infections since Feb 2011.. All stemming from my allergies according to my doctor. I am on an antibiotic every 3 weeks. Sometimes, I just don't deal with even going to the dr and just treat the pain with OTC meds.. For the past month or so, I have noticed that after I start to feel better from the sinus infection, I get tension headaches and/or migraines.. For the last 2 days, it has felt like my temples are going to explode... It is hard to function like this... The pain is so bad, it is making me queasy and I am having problems with my vision. I am going for an eye exam in the next couple of weeks. Maybe I am in need of new glasses. Anyone experience headaches on a daily basis?

Re: Chronic headaches!
Go see an ENT. There may be sinus/nose issues aggrevating the head.

Re: Chronic headaches!
An ENT is definitely your best bet, but in the meantime, I know that when my sinuses are acting up, I get the super tight tension headache that's at the front of my head...temples, behind the eyebrows, and around the eyes. I take advil or alleve (anti-inflammatory), a decongestant, and something for allergy. I know they make advil sinus and allergy, but it's got pseudoephedrine in it, so you have to ask for it behind the pharmacy.
Another thing I've been using was my neti-pot--sinus/nasal irrigation. I use it 3-4 times a week during allergy season, it dramatically reduces my sinus related issues. Feel better!

My neti-pot is seriously a life saver. I would also get a saline spray and keep it with you at all times so you can give yourself a quick spray if you need it.
For the headache, I would also have some coffee or something w/a little caffeine in it. And if you can, wet a wash cloth and put a little bit of rubbing alcohol on it and place it on your forehead. It doesn't always take the headache away, but I always feel better afterwards.

Re: Chronic headaches!
Thank you everybody... It has been a miserable year... Whatever I took yesterday has finally worked. I have been headache free for almost 24 hours.. I took sudafed, Excedrine Tension Headache, and drank some coke... I will try the neti-pot... And I will contact an ENT.. Thanks again...

Re: Chronic headaches!
DEFINITELY sounds like a sinus problem - a big one. I would find a fantastic ENT ASAP and probably do an MRI or CT Scan. You don't want to be on antibiotics this much! Sounds like probably one infection that never went away - who knows what is going on in there! Even your vision can be affected by sinus problems. Your ethomid sinus is right by your eye. If it is clogged or there is an infection there it could be bothering your eye. those headaches def. sound like sinus headaches as well. Hope you get to the bottom of this soon! GL!

Thanks. I have had an MRI done in the past and was told that my sinus passages were narrow and that was contributing to my chronic sinus issues. I guess it is time for another one.. Any ideas for a Great ENT in Nassau County?
