Those of you getting of who have got newborn pictures
Hey ladies-
I"m trying to make an appointment to get newborn pictures. The photographer says it has to be done within the first 10 days which is fine.
But, then she said we have to come to the studio. Is this typical? I thought they come to the house. I'm not sure how I feel about bringing a 10 day old baby out of the house in the freezing cold (December/January). Am I being too overprotective?

depends on the photographer. Some will come to you, some don't.

Like the PP said, some come to you and some do it in their own studio. When you think about it the baby is likely not going to be outside very long. You can dress them warm and warm up the car before you leave...make the drive and you bring them inside the photographer's studio/house (which is always made warm to ensure the baby sleeps for the session), and just make sure the car is warmed up when you leave and the baby will be fine.

I'm using Amy Jocelyn and she is coming to our home.
But as far as taking the baby out - you're going to have to take it from the hospital to your home as well as the pediatricians office, so...

The photographer I used came to my house. My dd was born mid December as well

I booked Christine Melissa- and she's coming to my house. My understanding is that many of the newborn photogs make house calls...perhaps if you are that concerned about taking him out, switch to a photog who will come to your home?
