We like the Wyndham Newport Onshore and Mill Street Inn.
Both are very nice and in a great location.

My friends and I stay at Pearls. It's more of a b&b, but it's not all old-school or floral in decor. It's modern and they have nice suites and a beautiful deck/garden area to enjoy.

we stayed a couple years ago at the harborside Inn. We liked it a lot. Right in the downtown area. Had wine and cookies in the afternoon. Small place. it was quiet and comfortable.
