Do sports cleats typically run small?
I'm looking for Roman who currently is a size 12 sneaker. What size should I get? I'd like for him to wear them for more than one season of football.

I don't think so but my kids have wide feet and combined with thick socks - I usually do a half size up. My older son is wearing a 1 in cleats and he measures a 13.5. They slip on easy with thick soccer socks. If you go too big - I find they lose them as they run.

They really have to be tried on. My son is also a size 12 in sneakers but got 12.5 football cleats because they run small & the socks are thick. They only last 1 season because they get so beat up.
Make sure they are plastic, metal is a No-No & only used for baseball.

I made sure to try them on with their socks they would be wearing. I feel they ran small. My daughter wears a size 9.5 shoe, but a 10.5 soccer cleat

DS has Nike cleats. They run narrow so I did get him a larger size.

DD's soccer cleats were always very small. We had to go up at least 1 size.

They really need to be tried on, both my kids were not true to sneaker size, the cleats seem to run small. This is my experience with soccer cleats, I don't know if football is the same.

Nike always runs small! Best bet is to try on. I've gotten DS new ones each season since he's always growing!
