Food Cravings/Aversions
Just wondering if you all have had certain food cravings or food aversions during your pregnancies.
The aversions are really frustrating to me, because I have been following Weight Watchers and eating very healthy for over 18 months prior to concieving.
I am so used to eating lots of fruits & veggies, and also drinking skim milk twice a day, and now that those healthy foods are even more important then ever, they are the foods that I seem to have no desire to eat.
Instead I am craving chocolate and meat!
I am doing my best to drink my milk, eat my fruits and veggies, but some days are harder then others!

Re: Food Cravings/Aversions
I've been having serious aversion to meat seeing it, preparing it, smelling it, all makes me gag
I can have like little pieces of meat in soup or whatever but a big slab of steak or grilled chicken, forget it! I'm gagging thinking about it right now.
I wish this meant I was craving fruits and veggies but nope. Nothing is appealing now

Re: Food Cravings/Aversions
My biggest food aversion was coffee. I couldn't stand the sight or smell of it.

Re: Food Cravings/Aversions
In my first trimester I had an aversion to cheese....this was crazy because I am a person that usually LOVES cheese. I could not stand the sight or thought of cheese at the beginning but now I am back to normal

Re: Food Cravings/Aversions
I craved bread and cheese ALOT the first trimester. Was not really into meat except for chicken. I could not stand veggies, it has gotten a bit better. Fruits I was fine with. But I developed a total sweet tooth.

No aversions yet at 7 weeks, I just seem to want to eat everything in sight! Bread, cheese, meat...you name it!

Re: Food Cravings/Aversions
my aversion was dairy, mostly milk and yogurt. cheese i could handle, but only in small amounts. even at 33 weeks, it still makes me uneasy when i drink it.

as much as I love cheese, drinking it would probably make me uneasy too!
to answer the OP - my biggest aversions were coffee and chicken. still can't do chicken despite trying a few times.

Re: Food Cravings/Aversions
In the beginning, I ate almost everything. I craved carbs and junk. At around 14 weeks I became totally turned off of all meat and craved mostly carbs. I pretty much only lived on egg sandwiches, pasta, buttered rolls, and grilled cheese. Now I'm starting to be able to eat a little bit more meat, but still no chicken.

Re: Food Cravings/Aversions
I've had aversions to milk and meat (especially ground beef.) I want cheese, especially melted cheese! I've been wanting strawberries but cannot find good ones. I also was on WW before I got pregnant and lost almost 40 lbs. I have gained weight and at a faster pace than with my first. I'm trying to eat healthy but its hard especially when you want a toasted bagel with cream cheese every day!!!

Re: Food Cravings/Aversions
Onions -- freshly chopped, sauteed, even the flakes you can buy in the herbal stores -- I can't get enough of onions with this pregnancy...Onion bagels, cheese with onion flakes sprinkled on it, extra onions in chicken or egg salad, onions on a sandwich, onions sprinkled on top of chili or tacos.
SOO weird for me.
