getting cytology/pathology results...
I just had my post op appt thurs (after 4 weeks) and they gave me my results... my baby had a severe genetic disorder and never would have lived. I thought hearing that would bring me some sense of peace... to know that there was nothing I could have done differently and it wasn't my something to do with my hormones/there's nothing to make us think this might happen again... but it didn't bring me any peace at all just ripped my heart out once again. Did anyone else feel this way? Just being in that office/the exam room made me cry...
And I found out it was a ...
I don't know what I'm looking for here; I'm just so sad.

I'm so sorry
I had the same reaction. I went into premature labor and no one could tell me why. I've recently found out what caused it and after searching for that answer for months it didn't bring me the peace I thought it would (not right away anyway). It mad me sad all over again thinking about what happened.

Re: getting cytology/pathology results...
my had triploidy which was an extra set of chromosomes that wasnt compatable with life.
in a sense it brought me some peace bc i found out no matter what i did or didnt do..the result would have been the same.
did it hurt to know it was a little baby girl and she had no chance? sure.
i personally hate the unknown so it helped me have some answers...but there have been some sad sad days for sure!! so sorry btw!!!

I had a D&C 2 weeks ago, I never asked about getting results. Do they do that automatically or did I have to request it?
Thank you!

i believe this is what my had as well
to the girls that asked, yes if they do testing, they will know what you were having. also, i am not sure if every doctor automatically sends it for testing or not. i asked the day of the d&c if they were going to, and he said yes - so it was something he would have done whether i mentioned it or not.
thank you for all who responded

Re: getting cytology/pathology results...
My results were the same as yours, I didnt feel relief but it did answer some questions. What does bother me though is I don't want to tell anyone for fear of getting the "it's better off talk" when to me I lost a .I'm sorry for your pain. For the other posters, I specifically asked for genetic testing I don't think dr would have done it otherwise. This was my second ms, first was a "chemical" but I don't like that term.
