need some advise ASAP about a potential job offer!

I had an interview on Thur 9/8. Rec'd a call on Mon to come back for a 2nd interview on 9/14.
I went yesterday & it went well. I met w/ another mgr & then sat w/ an acct mgr to "see" a bit how the job is.
After that, the main person I had met with said "We'll check your references and I'll get back to you hopefully in a few days. We're very interested in you"

That said, I have a few issues I want to address TODAY (of poss) and need help!!

(1) The hours will be 8:30-5:30. My son's school starts @ 8:10, I "clocked" the drive yesterday and I made it to the office at 8:34, and that was w/o traffic and w/o rain, snow, etc. I have no one else to consistently drop him off. My DH's schedule rotates, so he could drop him off sometimes, but not always. DS' school does have an early drop off, but I only need it occasionally & only for 10-15min. I would be utilizing the after care as well. I was hoping to NOT do before AND after care, to keep costs down.

(2) I have a planned vacation for the week of 10/10. I know they want to get someone in asap, so I assume that if I am offered a job, I would start prior to my vacation.

I want to address these 2 things with him ASAP, and preferably before a job offer (esp the hours). I want to see if I can do 9-6 or possible 8:45-5:45, but if I do those hrs, I have issues w/ DS' after care b/c it only goes until 6pm.

Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions???? TIA

I would definitely ask if they could do 8:45-5:45, I mean it's only a 15 minute difference.

When/if they offer you the position, you tell them about the vacation. Not much they can do, you planned it before you got the job.

I'd wait til you get the offer, and TBH, I'd try every alternative before asking to change the work hours, even for 15 mins. You don't know the office climate yet, and where I am, they usually say no to everyone, because if they say yes to 1, they have to say yes to all.

I would wait for the job offer and then ask about these two things right away. There really should not be an issue I would guess. My first job I had my brother's wedding about 6 weeks later (it was a travel wedding) so I alerted them to that fact when they offered me the job because policy was no vacation for the first three months. They had no issue with it and I took the days off.

My daughters school you can drop off up to 20 minutes early, is this an option for you?

ETA: This is normal drop off not before care...

He is in Catholic Pre-K, they cannot enter the school/classroom before 8:10. If they need to be there before, it is "before-care" with a fee.

I talked with DH, and he said we'll do the before and after care, and I would potentially work the time as scheduled 8:30-5:30
