My horrible week

DS has gotten strep too many times to count in the past year. His doctor has been recommending that we go an ENT to get his adnoids (sp) and tonsils out. We have been putting it off because I was worried about my 3 1/2 year old having surgery. So finally we went for a consult and had the surgery scheduled within 4 days. Well day one he was fine. Day two was horrible, he spiked a fever, I kept calling the doctor and they kept telling me it was normal an to just treat it with Tylenol and monitor him. Well Wednesday night at about 7:30, he spiked 103 fever and had a seizure...I'll tell you this was not his first febrile seizure but it gets worse each time. We took him to the hospital and he was admitted because they could not get his fever down. On Friday, they finally were able to conclusively diagnosis him with pneumonia. He spent 5 days in the hospital hooked up to an IV. I felt horrible because I also have a 4 month old who I am BF'ing so I could not stay overnight at the hospital with him since I needed to stay with DD. My wonderful husband stayed nights and most days (we were all in the little room during the day) with him. I hate being in the hospital myself but there is nothing worse then seeing your baby admitted and hooked up to IV. He was finally discharged today. So glad to have my little man home!!!

I'm so sorry, that is a rough one. So glad the little guy is back home and I hope he feels better soon!!
