IVF and Insurance
Did your insurance company make you go through IUIs before they would allow IVF? If so, What insurance did you have?

Re: IVF and Insurance
I had to have 6 IUI's, before insurance approves IVF. I have Oxford.

Re: IVF and Insurance
I believe it was
I was supposed to have 12 IUIs before moving on but my dr was able to get me approved for IVF without having to do 12, thankfully.

Re: IVF and Insurance
IVF coverage was based on diagnosis, so no, but I did do IUIs first. If you have mainly MF or tubal blockage, there's good reason to skip IUIs. I have Empire (gov't employee) insurance.

Re: IVF and Insurance
We have great insurance, but our IF coverage is weird. We have the option of 3 attempts at IUIs or IVF. Either/or, not both

Re: IVF and Insurance
Although we ultimately did not do IVF when I went to the RE I was told that bc of our diagnosis (male factor) we would be able to skip IUI's and go straight to IVF. I have GHI.

Re: IVF and Insurance
I have Aetna (gov't employee) and IUIs are covered, IVF is not....I will switch before the end of the year if we need to go that route...And yes, this is all stated in the policy.

Re: IVF and Insurance
I am under two plans. One plan only covers IUIs.
