Dealing with bad behaviors

I am having a HARD time with my 10 year old. His bad behaviors go from peeing in places other than the bathroom. He used to use the laundry room until I figured out where it was coming from. I thought we were all good and today I caught him at breakfast... he walked out back instead of walking the other way to the bathroom and peed! He has said he is afraid to go near the bathroom. I just dont get it and I believe he is afraid. What hes afraid of I just cant understand. Its a small house and pretty well lit.

His new thing he has recently discovered is cursing. he learned pretty quick it was NOT o.k. with me but his new thing is saying it under his breath OFTEN. He also constantly talks back.

So today I am trying something new. I know he doesnt like to write, and he needs to work on his handwriting etc, so I put him in his room with a pen and paper and told him he needed to write," I will not curse again." 25x. Earlier it was, "I will not pee outside." I just realized It should most likely be something like I will pee in the bathroom, or I will only use nice words or something.

The thing is every time I ask him to take a time out and do anything he has a tantrum. You would think he is dying LOL He is so dramatic. He could write it in 5 minutes and be done, but he whines and rolls around and it ends up being over an hour.

I just dont know what to do with him anymore. I am concerned with him getting closer to his teenage years. It just seems like every time we get him to start doing something correctly something else pops up. Ahhh

Yeah that's a big one, or the "enclosed" space ? or maybe the echoic sound a bathroom may have ?

I would try to create a strong reward system with him regarding going in the bathroom. Maybe make a deal that he go to the bathroom but not have to flush ? (if the noise is disturbing) Or go to the bathroom with an ipod (headphones) so that he can drown out any sensory overload ?

Bottom line I would come up with a plan of action with him to encourage him to use it.

Well I found out one thing - he said he was afraid of the vent in the ceiling. It looks like someone is looking at him from the attic! Creepy! So I went in and looked and hes right!!! Freaky!! So I closed the vent and so far so good with peeing in the bathroom at least. Well see if I can get him to flush and pick up the seat now.
