Re: pregnant mommies with 2 year olds...

I don't have a 2 year old. I have a 6 year old and a newly 3 year old who I babysit for, Monday thru Friday, 6:20am - 5pm. So I understand your exhaustion! It is so crazy some days!

The best I can suggest is to nap when he naps, give yourself some "quiet time" each day where you maybe relax on the couch together and watch a movie, and ask for help! If there are other Moms that you know through library class/soccer, that can help you in any way, allow them to do it! Ask your DH for help and hold him to it!

DD was 2 when I got pregnant with DS. It is exhausting. I took her to the library a lot. When it was nice, Holtsville.

I think what you're doing is great! Hang in there. Chat Icon

I barely get by & I'm only 11 weeks...I can't imagine what it's going to be like later on. My job has been kicking my butt lately, I have insomnia & my dc has been getting up very early (at like 5:30 or 6am). Unfortunately there has been a lot of TV in my house lately, as well as a lot of shopping trips where I strap the kiddo into a stroller or a wagon so that there's no running around Chat Icon

I'm right here with you ladies. DS is 21 months old with PDD and I'm 18 weeks pregnant. Some nights I go to bed right after him, at 7:30!

Re: pregnant mommies with 2 year olds...

My DD is almost 26 months. She comes to work with me daily and doesn't nap. She also sleeps in our bed at night so I get crappy sleep every night.

Once I got past the first tri (i'm almost 15 weeks) the pure exhaustion disappeared. DD is pretty independent but i'm still in bed by 9 every night.Chat Icon

It's so hard! I feel like I have just no patience sometimes (which I HATE) and I go to bed like an hour after DS!

It's VERY hard. DS is 18 months old and I'm 23 weeks pregnant. I know I am not giving DS the same amount of attention I used to pre-pregnancy and I do feel guilty about it a lot. I am scared to think of how hard it will be taking care of a NB AND a 22 month old with no sleep Chat Icon

It's very hard! DS is almost 22 months and I can't keep up with him. I'm feeling a little bit better this week - maybe the second trimester energy spurt is kicking in.

I have been losing my patience as well with him more often and I feel bad that I can't do as much as I could before I was pregnant.

I do enjoy my cuddle time though after work and bath when we watch tv in my bed before we both go to sleep.

DD is 18months and I'm 31 weeks.

I am EXHAUSTED, my back is killing me and I just want to lay in front of the TV all the time.

DD is with me all day, every day (she comes to work with me) and I feel so bad that I can't run around and play with her in the evenings.

hopefully, lots of snuggling makes up for it Chat Icon

Re: pregnant mommies with 2 year olds...

I am 34.5 weeks and DS will be 2 next week and I feel like I'm going to die. I'm relying on DH a lot more to do things (bath and bedtime, more feedings with him). Other than that, that's about it...I feel terribly guilty, especially because when DD is born he'll not get any more time with me, but I've promised myself there will be times that I'll do things with just him.

I have a 3.5 yr old and 23 month old - and I'm over 38 wks pregnant due anyday. Chat Icon
I took maybe 2 naps this entire pregnancy and I was really sick the first 16-17 wks.
But you just do what you can b/c, well, what's the other option. Up until Friday I was commuting to Manhattan and working til 11PM b/c I was bringing the boys to nursery school first, then picking them up and bringing them to daycare and getitng to the office late (I wanted them to start the nursery program with their peers in September but wasn't ready for leave).
Hang in there, and remember it's OK to do what you have to do to get by!

Yup. I am 34 weeks and ds is 20 months.

Mostly I feel guilty that we don't get out anymore. I used to take him to a lot of programs etc. but now we only get to an "activity" once a week during the weekdays and the rest of the week it's just gma's house or watching tv/ making huge messes. I try and make up for it by planning something he really enjoys when DH is home on the weekends.

ugh, DD is almost 21 months and I have about 3 more weeks until DD#2. I'm so tired all the time!! My back hurts and I'm a mess by the time I get home from work at the end of the day. I tell myself that she won't remember these few weeks!

This is how I feel as well. DS is 25 months and I am 22w pregnant. I'm having a very rough pregnancy but am trying my hardest not to let it impact DS. He is definitely watching more tv than he did before I got pregnant. Sometimes I just lie on the couch in the playroom and he bring all the toys over to meChat Icon DS also goes to preschool now so that is a BIG help to me.

Re: pregnant mommies with 2 year olds...

It is hard. I have a 2.5 yr old. I had a really hard first trimester, I was so sick. Now I'm 17 weeks and able to function much better. The worst part for me is my work hours. I work overnights full-time. I have my MIL watch hi
During the day but it's still exhausting. Mondays I'm up from 630am with DS, I have a full day with him and housework then I have to work from 930pm till 730am. So I'm pretty much up 24 hours. I try to nap when DS naps, so that helps a little. Most days I'm like a zombie and loose my temper easily.

I have absolutely no advice, but I am 7 weeks pg and I have a 2 year old (28 months old). I am so exhausted, I fall asleep on the couch constantly, I am so tired and moody all the time. My DS gave up napping entirely months ago, but if your DC naps, definitely try to sleep then. It's really hard on everyone. I hope we all hang in there!!

OMG so glad I am not alone. I am 9 wks and my DD just turned 2. I work full time and I feel like I am so tired by the night. The weekends are a little better but still I feel bad b/c I don't have the energy to do alot. Hoping after 1st trimester it will get better. And I am nervous about having 2 for purposes of daycare (bringing them both there 3 days wk) and DH works SAT and Sun so I am by myself on the weekends during the day.
