Question for mommies of 2 year olds

For the last week, Jacob has been wetting through his diapers and it has been a significant amount. DH called the pediatrician and he said that Jacob should have 4 cups of water/juice and 2 cups of milk spread throughout the day. I found out at daycare that they were giving him apple juice all day. When I spoke to them about it, they realized that they have been giving him too much and he was asking for more because of the sweetness.

So my question is, how many cups of juice and milk does DC drink per day?

TIA!

I try to limit what they drink before they go to bed as well. This makes a big difference as well.

Re: Question for mommies of 2 year olds

we don't give juice (Kaitee was having awful fits for it all day long so we quit giving it to her).

Kaitee gets 2 cups milk (8 oz each). and 3-5 cups(8 oz each) of water.

Re: Question for mommies of 2 year olds

My DD doesn't like juice, so all she really drinks is water and milk.
She drinks 3 sippy cups of milk throughout the day. (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and she drinks some water with her snacks and when we're out and about.
I don't really keep track of the amount of water she drinks though.
hope this helps,

Re: Question for mommies of 2 year olds

DD gets 12 oz of milk each day...but sometimes doesn't drink it all.

I give her 1 cup of juice (about 8 oz) each day...when it's gone, she gets water. At daycare, they know to fill her cup with water when the juice is gone, so I would say she gets about 8-12 oz water a day.

When she is at home she gets:
1 cup milk in the morning
1 cup watered down juice at lunch
maybe some milk with snack
1 cup water at dinner
1 cup milk before bed (although she doesn't finish)

DD drinks about 18 oz of milk (3 sippies), 6 oz. of juice and about 12 oz water. We also give her chamomile tea every few days.

Re: Question for mommies of 2 year olds

DD drinks about 15-20 ounces of milk a day and maybe 10 ounces of watered down juice...
She basically has something available to drink at all times should she choose to have something.
