Do you give yourself a breast exam? How often?

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, wanted to raise this question. My OBGYN just told me that women should be doing this at least weekly. Start a routine, in the shower, before bed, whenever you're most likely to remember.

I said to him that I don't really know what I'm feeling for. He said that is not important. What IS important is to familiarize yourself with your normal breast tissue so you can identify if something changes.

I'm by no means an expert, but wanted to just put this out there as a friendly PSA!

I don't. But I did after watching Five the other day. And I plan on making it a routine. Like you, I don't know what I am feeling for. Hopefully, I'll never know because I will never feel anything odd.

I try to remember every few months...and will be the first to say I more forget than I do remember...

But I think its a good thing to start doing on a regular basis!

Unfortunately I end up doing it once a year in October when i see all the pink ribbons and such. I really should make it more of a habit .
