Heat Not Working
Thermostat was set, but our heat never came on last night.
Trying to find a good company to come out since this weekend is going to get cold. House was pretty chilly this morning, even with the space heater.
GalletAir wants to charge massive after-hours rates to come out before Monday.
Infinity Air Corp. is not answering their phone.
Herber can make it out tomorrow, but are they good at Heating, not just Plumbing?

Re: Heat Not Working
Is your hot water heated by your furnace? If so, do you have hot water?
I would probably try to run the space heaters until Monday when the price of service goes WAAAAY down.

Re: Heat Not Working
What kind of system do you have? We had major issues getting our pilot light to stay lit - the plumber said something about the crazy moisture this summer corroded our thermocoupler(?)

Re: Heat Not Working
The heat is the problem - the heat - there is nothing wrong with the water.
GalletAir is the only company saying heavy charges for coming out before Monday.
I'm trying to get feedback on heating companies.
We have no service contract.
It's gas, forced air.

Re: Heat Not Working
I had this issue this morning, and realized that the emergency switch was turned off.
I KNOW my son did this a day or two ago when he was playing on the basement steps.
I have no recs either. I was googling this morning and got one person who was moderately helpful.
The place I called was 516-889-1900 and they said they could send someone tomorrow.

Re: Heat Not Working
I've never touched that emergency switch, but if it gets turned off - you need to have someone come out, it won't work just turning it back on??
Edited to add: Hubby just admitted when he thought maybe the heat wasn't working, he switched it off, then back on. (I knew it - woman's intuition).

Re: Heat Not Working
No, I turned it on myself and the boiler started right away.
I realized this playing around on my own after I called this one company and they said they had to call me back.

Didn't seem I was clear enough based on your initial response.

Re: Heat Not Working
We had gas/forced air in our old house and used Matz Rightway 728-066. They are located out east somewhere. I was very happy with their service. We had the same issue and it turned out to be a relay switch. Good Luck.
